Taliff

Brand Strategy, Communications, Logo, Visual Language, Website

Starting a clothing brand, is not for the fainthearted. With thousands of brands popping up at the snap of the finger, Taliff entered a crowded space. Originally starting out as the name “Give” they needed to do a rebrand that would represent their passion and story.

Our Approach

We needed to tell a story. We focused on starting with the name of the brand as the focal point for the following chapters of Taliff. Then we went on to tackle the visual identity of the brand which would allow for us to establish the design of the clothing.

Logo:

The goal of the logo was to reflect a softer image of out doors culture mixed with a warmness of being approachable.

Brand Strategy

Taliff directly means “Give Life”. We created this name by looking at various languages where the word “give” is translated.. The owner of the brand is Armenian and in that language “Tal” is the translation for “give”. The story that the brand represent’s is “Giving life to the world”. Tal + Life = Taliff.

We would use this to focus on how we can best tell the story of Taliff.

Communications / Content

Having a brand that represents “giving” provided a hurdle in avoiding the association towards giving items to others as a non profit might. While this is a leg of what Taliff wanted to represent, it was not the focus.

We decided that the best way to tell others what that would be, would be established through starting a podcast to tell the stories of others. This would be the focus of our strategy for sharing the brand message.
